The Cuban singer Yomil Hidalgo sent a heartfelt message to the Cuban youth and told them that "problems are setbacks" after the murder of a teenager in Havana last Thursday.
Key West is in mourning. Yesterday, another young person lost their life due to the immaturity and senseless violence that is experienced in the streets of Cuba. Youth, when will you understand that these issues lead to setbacks, and when you come of age and realize that life has passed you by in that, that's when the regrets start.
The musician reflected that "now the one who killed will go to jail and the one who lost their life leaves such a great pain that their family and friends will never recover from this tragedy."
Young Cubans, finally understand that problems will never lead you to anything good. You only have three paths: prison, the hospital, or the grave. Today, my Cayo Hueso is sad and mourning again, buddy, my condolences to Yan Franco's family and friends.
The young Jean Franco, who wanted to make his way in the music industry, was stabbed twice in a recording studio near Trillo Park in Havana last Thursday, and on Friday dozens of people gathered in the popular neighborhood to bid him farewell.
At night, his friends gathered in front of the young man's house to sing the songs he liked, including his favorite, "Amanece" by Yomil and El Dany, who also came out of Cayo Hueso.
Hours before, relatives, friends, and acquaintances bid him farewell with songs at the funeral home until the coffin was placed in the hearse for its transfer to the cemetery.
The exact circumstances of the murder are still uncertain.
"You are part of the family and in general you were a very charismatic and cheerful child, full of dreams and ideas. A child who was fighting for your dreams and suddenly they take you away from this world," a family member lamented on Facebook.
