José Rubiera warns of rain in eastern Cuba associated with Hurricane Beryl.

Rubiera used a satellite simulation of Beryl's path this Wednesday to report on the occurrence of rain in Cuba, mainly in the eastern region.

The popular Cuban meteorologist, José Rubiera, warned that in the coming hours, Hurricane Beryl will bring rain mainly to the eastern region of Cuba and called for people to be alert in that regard.

Rubiera showed at the last minute on Tuesday how following a satellite simulation of the hurricane's evolution, this Wednesday the eastern provinces will be affected by rain.

The meteorologist showed how the eastern territory enters a shaded area of yellow on the displayed graph, defining the rainfall as "not so strong but not weak either," and clarified that the weak rains would be the light green area where almost the rest of the country enters.

Rubiera insisted that even though Beryl is not heading towards Cuba and is weakening, the hurricane must continue to be evaluated as "a threat." He listed the various "surprises" that the meteorological phenomenon has presented since it first appeared as a tropical depression on June 28th.

Regarding the signs of increasing weakness and certain loss of structure that Beryl has shown in the last few hours as it approaches Jamaica, Rubiera indicated that it is encountering strong winds in the atmosphere which are affecting it, and that "dry air is entering it."

The meteorologist finally called to keep an eye on the path of Beryl, a powerful hurricane that fortunately Cuba hopes not to see its worst side.

The Cuban Meteorological Institute (INSMET) forecasts that the passage of Beryl through the Caribbean Sea will bring heavy rain and strong swells, causing coastal flooding in areas from the east to the west of the island in the coming days.

They have warned that starting this Wednesday, winds in the eastern region may reach sustained speeds between 40 and 55 km/h, with higher gusts.

Miguel Díaz-Canel called on citizens this Tuesday to be "alert and prepared", since although Cuba will not be directly impacted by the hurricane, as it passes through the seas south of the island, Cubans may feel "some of its effects".

"I ask our people to stay informed and follow the guidelines issued by Civil Defense," emphasized the leader on the social network X.
