A man was arrested this Wednesday after carrying out a robbery with a bladed weapon at the Jorge Arturo Vilaboy basic secondary school, located in the municipality of Old Havana, in Havana.
According to the facts presented by Javier Gutierrez on the Facebook social network, the detainee entered the educational center and took two cell phones from the administrator's office, but was discovered upon leaving.
"When he was already leaving the office, the administrator saw him stealing, and this character pulled out a knife to intimidate her before taking off at full speed. However, the plan became complicated for him because he did not expect the woman to be so brave and chase after him, shouting 'catch him!'" Gutiérrez recounted.
The incident took place on Lamparilla Street between Bernaza and Villegas, where two officers were located, who "quickly and efficiently" intercepted and caught the thief between Sol and Egido streets.
Likewise, the post indicates that the phones were "recovered and returned to their rightful owner," while the man will have to "now be accountable to justice so that he learns that what is not his is not to be touched, and women are to be respected, as he was born of one."
A few days ago, it was reported that a man who tried to steal a cell phone from its owner on a bus in Havana was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
According to a report broadcast on the television show Mesa Redonda, the event occurred in a P12, around 4:00 pm, while driving along Boyeros Avenue and Calzada del Cerro.
Similarly, last week a Cuban woman reported the theft of a motorcycle from a home located in the Cerro municipality, in Havana. The victims offered a reward of 400 euros to anyone who helps them find the vehicle.
A supposed pickpocket was arrested on June 24 after stealing a cell phone from a lady on a P6 bus route in Old Havana. The arrest took place at the La Lechera bus stop in Old Havana, according to the Facebook profile "El Cubano Fiel", which is associated with the Ministry of the Interior.
