The U.S. Embassy in Cuba reminds the prisoners from July 11th: "Do not remain silent."

The embassy will start sharing in the coming days testimonials from relatives of political prisoners in Cuba in the series "Behind Bars."

The United States Embassy in Cuba remembered this July 11th the peaceful protesters who three years ago took to the streets of the Island to demand freedom and are now imprisoned.

The diplomatic headquarters shared a video on its Twitter account denouncing everything that hundreds of people who have been unjustly imprisoned, as well as their families, are suffering.

"They were imprisoned for peacefully protesting and have been isolated from their families and communities," emphasized the embassy in its message, crafted in the form of an animated drawing.

The video indicates that those arrested for participating in the July 11th protests were subjected to an unfair legal process, many of them without a lawyer, and ultimately sentenced to excessive penalties.

The U.S. embassy announced that in the coming days it will begin sharing some testimonies from relatives of political prisoners in Cuba in the series Behind Bars.

"Their families suffer, their children grow up without them and with trauma, their homes are desolate. The protesters of July 11th in Cuba are a symbol of peaceful protest, may they not remain silent," he requested.
