In the midst of his tour in Europe, Yomil took to his social media to share photos from Valencia and reflect on all the years he has been accumulating achievements in his musical career.
Through the stories on his Instagram account, the Cuban reggaeton artist mentioned the projects he has participated in over the years and referred to some of the reasons that have kept him going.
"On August 26, I will complete nine years since I started my project as group director, if* we mention the other six years I spent three in D.D and three in Los 4, that makes 16 years on top of the ball," he says in the message written a few hours ago.
"It's easy to say, but believe me, it's harder than you can imagine; it's called resilience, discipline, quality, and I manage myself; the record labels haven't taken a dime from me because I've known how to make good deals," he concluded.
Before this story, Yomil, who has come to his tour in the Old Continent accompanied by his girlfriend Daniela Reyes, had used the same ephemeral section of the social network to reflect on how this tour is helping him to better see what is thriving on this side of the world and what steps he needs to take in his career to remain a favorite among urban music lovers beyond the island.
"This tour has been really good for me, understanding that the music we are making is not crossing borders; on this side of the world, the music is consumed very differently from what we are doing. I'm eager to return to Cubita to focus on getting my career back on track; I feel that I've held back, and I know my potential, and I can't afford that luxury. Let’s get back to being on point, as always," he said.
Yomil's summer tour "Europe 2024" started last June in Tenerife and will conclude on the 24th in Barcelona.
On July 18, Yomil did not overlook on social media the fourth anniversary of the death of his friend and companion El Dany. In a heartfelt message, he recalled the impact of his departure and the void it left in urban music in Cuba. "July 18, 2020, has been the saddest day in urban music in Cuba. Today marks 4 years since your departure, brother, and you are still present; no one has forgotten you, and that’s why we, your friends, your family, your very team, are here to let everyone know that there is a Sensei who from heaven gives us strength and much light to move forward. Rest in peace, my brother, for Cuba will never forget you," he said in his heartfelt post.
