The Tampa Bay Rays placed Cuban player Yandy Díaz on the restricted list without the organization providing details about his absence in the coming days, which fuels rumors about a possible trade.

Various spaces on social media echoed the news and reveal that the initialist will be away from the team until further notice.

According to Playoffmagazine, Díaz did not travel for the series against the New York Yankees due to "a personal matter," manager Kevin Cash told Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

He also stated that the team is not going to explain the exact reasons, although speculation about a possible franchise change has increased.

Being on the aforementioned list is not comfortable for the Villaclareño, as Major League Baseball does not allow players to earn their salary.

In this regard, it is valid to note that the Rays' leadoff hitter still has about 3.3 million of the 8 million dollars stipulated for the current baseball season remaining to be paid.

Without a doubt, the absence of the player is a great mystery due to his importance in the team, which, however, has achieved two consecutive victories against the Yankees as visitors.
