The family of Dainerys Díaz Rodríguez, missing since July 18, is desperate and is asking for help to find the whereabouts of the young woman, who suffers from several mental disorders.

Posts by his family members on social media indicated that Díaz, 27 years old and a resident of Guanabo, suffers from bipolar disorder and other associated illnesses, for which he needs medication.

On her Facebook profile, her aunt Maritza Rodríguez warned that the girl "has been missing since Thursday, outside of the total support of her family," and explained that, despite her age, "she is not a young woman with the mental capacity to respond to any type of situation."

For that reason, she requested that if anyone sees her, "even if she is accompanied by a woman or a man, to notify the police or her family."

In the comments section of his post, Rodríguez mentioned that the girl was going to the store in Guanabo and her cell phone "was off."

Although she didn't provide details, such as what Díaz was wearing when she was last seen, the aunt indicated that the young woman lives in Guanabo, in La Conchita, and provided several phone numbers for contact: her own, 54142968 and 76990169, and her father's, 77990582.

Beatriz Díaz Rodríguez, also a relative of the young woman, published a note asking for help: “She has been missing since Thursday, suffers from bipolarity and other associated illnesses, takes medication, please if anyone sees her, write or call: 54142968, 54310990. They say they saw her in Alamar, this has not been confirmed.”

Anxious, many Cubans use social media to locate relatives who are missing, due to the absence of a state channel that makes these cases visible, which are also not reported by the official press.

In recent times, requests for help in finding missing persons have become very frequent, amid a context of social insecurity due to the increase in crime in the country.
