The criticisms of the government of Miguel Díaz-Canel published by Cuban economist Juan Triana Cordoví on the blog of singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez (Segunda Cita) have been extensively discussed on social media by Cubans who expressed their opinions on the Facebook page of CiberCuba.

The professor from the officialist Center for Studies of the Cuban Economy at the University of Havana criticized the economic measures taken by the leader of the so-called "continuity" and considered it "regrettable" that Díaz-Canel did not acknowledge his "responsibility" for their failure.

The theorist, belonging to the regime's official stance and a close associate of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), criticized the speech of the ruler during the third ordinary session of the X Legislature of the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP).

"That the president describes the disaster is something he has been doing for some time, at least twice a year. However, I believe he missed delving into the causes, and that, in my opinion, is unfortunate," said Triana Cordoví in a blog post by Silvio titled "Opinions of Economists by Mail."

Likewise, the economist emphasized that "for eight years, the government of Cuba has concentrated investment in hotels (35% of the total) and has neglected investment in agriculture, fishing, the sugar cane industry, and the food industry, as well as in energy."

"That the president does not acknowledge his personal responsibility and that of the government in that decision is very unfortunate," stated Triana Cordoví.

The publication of the note on CiberCuba's Facebook generated over 500 comments on this social network. Below are some of the most popular ones:

"You must have a very thick skin to address the people every year with the same story and asking for more sacrifice... How long will this go on? But even thicker is the skin of the deputies, who claim to be the people and represent us, but only represent their own interests and not those of the people," said Belkis González.

"Poor thing, will we hear from this brave economist again? May God protect and bless him," said Maritza Luna García. "You will never see a communist acknowledge their mistakes without blaming others," pointed out the user identified as 'Desmintiendo al régimen cubano'.

“Triana, a forward-thinking economist, has always made those very direct analyses, proportional to the situation of each moment. They do not listen; they only seek to cling to power at all costs,” Marlene Gil Granado considered. For her part, Cora Barry expressed her admiration in a more colloquial manner: “You’ve got yourself into a real mess! Your days are numbered! You know!”

"Finally, someone is telling the truth. Everything is a lie; no one believes our leaders anymore. It's sad to see how our beautiful nation has been destroyed, education, hospitals, and those beautiful achievements of the revolution have disappeared, and still the same old song," lamented Orestes Zaldívar.

"The most regrettable thing is a deficient and arrogant self-sufficient person, surrounded by incompetent individuals, who gather every day and don’t even believe in any improvement in any aspect of society," criticized Mario Hernández Pita.

Several others congratulated Triana Cordoví for his reflection. "Now we need to make sure they don't make it disappear. A round of applause for the professor," said Lenna Carmenates Pantaleón.

"The regrettable thing here is that the people pay for everything and the consequences are disastrous because the exodus during this period exceeded that of previous years," emphasized Nadir Quintana Aguilar, highlighting the mass exodus caused by the crisis and the mismanagement of Díaz-Canel.

Finally, Miriam Ramírez Santana celebrated the publication of Triana Cordoví's words. "Fortunately, they provide very interesting news. I wish all Cubans could read it, so they can see that telling the truth is what is needed!"
