A woman dies in a traffic accident in Santiago de Cuba.

A woman lost her life in a tragic traffic accident that occurred this Wednesday in the historic center of the city of Santiago de Cuba.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Heredia and Peralejo streets, when a Girón bus, apparently due to a brake failure, crashed into an old building, reported journalist Yosmany Mayeta on Facebook.

At that moment, the victim was passing through the area and got trapped under the rubble.

Despite the efforts of several people who tried to help her, the woman died at the scene, Mayeta noted.

He added that the firefighters and police quickly arrived at the accident site to provide assistance and carry out the necessary rescue efforts.

In another post, the journalist shared a video showing the husband of the deceased woman, visibly affected and agitated by the tragic event.

Another accident occurred on Tuesday in Santiago de Cuba, when a tractor crashed into the portal of a house after losing its brakes while going down a hill.

The pavement was wet at the time the accident occurred, which increased the danger. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities as a result of the incident, but there were material losses.

Also this Tuesday, a concrete mixer truck crashed into the exterior wall of the Hotel Habana Libre, with no human injuries reported.

The accident occurred on L Street between 23 and 25, in El Vedado, according to reports on social media.
