A woman lost her life in a tragic traffic accident that occurred this Wednesday in the historic center of Santiago de Cuba.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Heredia and Peralejo streets when a Girón bus, apparently due to a brake failure, crashed into an old building, reported journalist Yosmany Mayeta on Facebook.

At that moment, the victim was passing through the area and became trapped under the rubble.
Despite the efforts of several people who tried to assist her, the woman passed away at the scene, Mayeta noted.
He added that firefighters and police quickly arrived at the accident site to provide assistance and carry out the necessary rescue operations.
In another post, the journalist shared a video showing the husband of the deceased woman, visibly affected and distraught by the tragic event.
Another accident occurred this Tuesday in Santiago de Cuba when a tractor crashed into the entrance of a house after losing its brakes while coming down a hill.
The pavement was wet at the time of the accident, which increased the danger. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities as a result of the incident, but there were material losses.
Also on Tuesday, a concrete mixer truck crashed into the exterior wall of the Hotel Habana Libre, with no injuries reported.
The accident occurred on L Street between 23rd and 25th in El Vedado, according to reports on social media.
