The video depicts the violent incident as a woman questions the absence of the police, who were apparently present just minutes before.

In the brief clip, in the final seconds, the police are seen apprehending a man.

“Carnivals are heating up,” commented the communicator, referring to another confrontation that took place during the pre-carnival festivities in the city streets.

The biggest popular festival in Santiago de Cuba is taking place this year in a challenging context, characterized by ongoing power outages, various illnesses circulating among the population, and out-of-control inflation.

This Thursday, a resident of Santiago criticized the Santiago de Cuba Carnival, which officially began on Thursday and will run until Saturday, for the high prices of food and drinks.

The complainant stated that with his professional salary (around 7,000 pesos), after buying some food for the month, he is left with approximately 1,500 pesos, which barely allows him to enjoy a day of carnival.

The man reported that the price of beer ranges from 200 to 240 pesos, fried chicken costs 400, malt is 300, and canned juices are about 250. Cheese pizzas are priced at 120, while the traditional pork snack (bread with roast pork) costs 200, although he noted that the latter is also available for 250.
