"I'm already a resident": Cuban young woman celebrates new achievement in the United States

"I'm looking for it all by myself, no one has given me anything."

The young Cuban Marlan Vázquez, known on TikTok as @marlan_estudio, has moved thousands of users by sharing an emotional video of the special moment when she opened the envelope with her permanent residency card in the United States.

In the clip, she can be seen emotional to the point of tears over her new achievement in the country. "Only God knows how much I've wished to be in this country, to escape the misery I grew up in; I went through so much need that I asked all the Saints to take me out of Cuba so I could fulfill my dreams and help my family. I am now a resident. Thanks to my uncles who believed in me and helped me to become a better person. To the one who lent me the money to leave Cuba. I paid back every dollar, and I'm here making my way on my own; no one has given me anything. Thank you," wrote the young woman from Cienfuegos about the video, which has generated a wave of reactions online, and at the time of this note, it had surpassed 12,000 likes and 1,900 comments.

"You made me cry because we are Cuban and I know what we all go through, you are so young but very brave. Blessings"; "Congratulations, you deserve it"; "A thousand blessings, enjoy every achievement because you deserve it, I don't know you in person but I see your videos and it's clear that you are a wonderful girl. God gives His blessing and does not leave His princesses in shame"; "Blessings, may God continue to bless you"; "Congratulations, it's a great achievement," reads among the hundreds of congratulatory messages for such an important milestone in her history as an immigrant.

This is not the first video in which Marlan has shared his story of overcoming challenges. Last December, he uploaded another one online about his journey from Cuba to his business in Miami. At that time, he described his difficult path from working house to house in Cuba to opening his own beauty business in the United States.

On that occasion, as he has now, he did not miss the opportunity to thank his cousin for her support and his self-taught education; moreover, he mentioned the challenges he faced, such as the lack of materials and power outages on the island.

"It's hard work, but don't let anyone take away your dreams. No matter which country you're in, yes, it is possible," he said on that occasion, something that his new achievement confirms and will now allow him to continue growing and adding accomplished goals.
