The Cuban Yariulvis Cobas secured her spot in the E final of the women's single sculls at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

At the Vaires-Sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, Cobas won the first E/F semifinal with a time of 8:36.16 minutes, surpassing three competitors.

They completed the leading trio with Aisy Saiyidah Binte Mohamed from Singapore, with a time of 8:47.41 minutes, and Soaad Alfaqaan from Kuwait, with a time of 9:01.78 minutes, according to the official site of the event.

Last Sunday, Cobas participated in the repechage to try to reach the quarterfinals, but finished third in her heat with a time of 8:10.64 minutes, falling short of the top two who advanced.

Joanie Delgaco from the Philippines and Pham Thie Hue from Vietnam qualified with times of 7:55.00 and 8:00.97 minutes, respectively.

Previously, in her debut on Saturday, the Cuban rower finished in fifth place in the third heat with a time of 8:11.13 minutes, failing to qualify for the next round. Emma Twigg from New Zealand, the Olympic champion of Tokyo 2020, won that heat with a time of 7:34.97 minutes.

Cuba has 61 athletes competing in 16 sports at Paris 2024. Two days ago, Cuban Reidy Cardona secured his place in the quarterfinals of the men's single sculls.
