Fatal accident in Havana: Motorcyclist dies after collision with truck in Playa

A fatal accident occurred this Wednesday in the Playa municipality of Havana when a truck collided with a motorcycle.

Alexis Verano reported in the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES for more experience and fewer victims!" that the incident occurred at the intersection of 41 and 30.

"The deceased motorcycle driver is lying on the floor," he stated.

In the comments section, several users noted that the accident occurred at a traffic light. They highlighted the importance of both drivers and pedestrians paying attention to their surroundings, regardless of the traffic light, due to the presence of reckless individuals on the road.

Last Saturday, an elderly man was run over by a bus on the road from Bayamo to Las Tunas, near the town of San Joaquín, in Granma province, according to reports on social media.

The circumstances surrounding the death of the elderly person have not been revealed, although it appears that he may have been hit by a vehicle while crossing the street.

Photos shared on the Facebook profile La Tijera show how the windshield of the van was cracked, apparently as a result of the impact, as well as a yellow tape placed by authorities to mark the scene of the tragic event.

Last Monday, two motorcycle police officers, commonly known as "caballitos," died as a result of a traffic accident in the province of Camagüey.
