The Cuban athlete duo Noslen Díaz and Jorge Luis Alayo swept the Moroccans Mohammed Abicha and Zouheir Elgraoui with a convincing 2-0, ensuring their unbeaten record in group D of the Olympic beach volleyball tournament.
The setting, alongside the iconic Eiffel Tower, witnessed an impeccable performance by the Cubans, who did not drop a single set during the group stage.
In just 30 minutes, Díaz and Alayo delighted fans under the intense Parisian sun. Changing into white t-shirts, they repeated the formula for success: Alayo dominating the net and Noslen defending with precision.
"I want to thank my teammate for his performance since the tournament started. The level he has shown, point by point, is wonderful on defense and is making my job easier," commented Alayo on Díaz's performance.
The sets were defined with scores of 21-14 and 21-11, showcasing the Cuban dominance in all aspects of the game.
Although they missed six services, they compensated with a strong attack, scoring 30 points. The Cuban duo moves forward steadily, ready to continue conquering victories in Paris.
