The renowned singer Marc Anthony announced the cancellation of his concert in Venezuela, scheduled for August 27, due to the tense political situation in the country.

The artist made the announcement through a story on his Instagram account. "My dear people of Venezuela. I have been counting the days for our long-awaited meeting after so many years without seeing you. But, due to the painful current situation that your country is going through at this moment, my conscience leads me to cancel my concert on August 27," he wrote.

The singer concluded his message with words of support and hope: "Hopefully we can be together again very soon. May God bless you today and may peace be with all of Venezuela. I love you!" accompanied by two icons, one of the Venezuelan flag and another of a broken heart.

This announcement comes in a context of high political and social tension in Venezuela, after Nicolás Maduro was proclaimed the winner of the recent presidential elections. The Chavista electoral authority granted Maduro 51.2% of the votes, while the opposition candidate, Edmundo González, received 44.2%. The opposition, led by María Corina Machado, has denounced these results as fraudulent and has claimed to have evidence showing that González was the true winner, with 6,275,182 votes compared to Maduro's 2,759,256 votes.

The protests and rejection from a significant part of the population have marked the days following the electoral elections. The situation has created an atmosphere of instability that has led Marc Anthony to decide to cancel his performance in the country.

Many artists around the world have shown solidarity with the Venezuelan people, including Alejandro Sanz, Karol G, Nacho, Rubén Blades, Farruko, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, and many Cubans such as Yotuel, Alexander Delgado, Randy Malcom, and Aldo "El Aldeano".
