A social media user shared a video this Sunday showing the closure of a street in Havana due to the accumulation of garbage, highlighting the regime's inaction to solve this problem.
Yulier Rodríguez shared a reel on Facebook showing the huge accumulation of waste in the municipality of Diez de Octubre: “This is how the Luyano neighborhood – Havana is doing.”
In the video, Rodríguez showed the streets Pedro Pernas and Manuel Pruna, where the accumulation of garbage has reached such an extreme that it is impossible for a vehicle to pass through those roads.
"What a disgusting mess!" exclaimed the author of the video, while focusing on a micro dump that, by its size, clearly has not been cleaned up in several days.
A similar scene was reported on social media this Saturday as well.
A video published on social media highlighted the severe trash collection crisis in Havana, where popular corners have been overrun by piles of solid waste.
The material, published on Instagram by internet user Juan Juan Almeida, shows the corner of Lealtad and San Lázaro, in Centro Habana, turned into a huge dump.
The collection of solid waste in Cuba has been such a recurring problem that the regime recently announced it is seeking support from foreign investors to resolve the crisis in solid waste management in the country, particularly in Havana, where the increase in garbage threatens the health of thousands of people.
Granma reported that several foreign investors presented their alternatives to solve the garbage problem in the Integral Waste Management System of Havana. The regime claims that there are more than ten foreign investment projects on this issue.
