Cuban woman rescues puppy from a dumpster: "Tired of so much abuse"

"I'm going to help you," she said to the little dog while trying to get him out from under a container, where he had hidden.

Animal defender Yenney Caballero shared a video on social media showing the rescue of a dog that was abandoned in a dumpster in San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque.

The dog, still a puppy, had a fracture in its hind legs, according to the young woman in the video.

"We're going to help you," she said to the puppy while trying to get him out from under a container where he had hidden.

"What a way for animals to suffer, in the hands of shameless people who hit them, mistreat them, and abandon them. This is horrible," he stated as he carried it to take it to the veterinarian.

In another post, the young woman asked for help so that someone could take care of the little animal, as she has her house full of animals, although she assured that she would cover the medical expenses.

Last June, this same activist reported that the owners of a Siberian Husky puppy left it locked up for three days in an abandoned house in San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque.

It is reported that the neighbors were complaining about the puppy's howling during the day and night.

The woman broke a piece of the acrylic from the door, and when she inserted her phone's camera, she was able to confirm that the place was abandoned and that the prisoner was a puppy.

Caballero has revealed several serious cases of animal abuse in Cuba, including the sale of dog meat in Mayabeque.

Additionally, it denounced the torture of a cat published by a young man on Facebook, which led the animal protection organization to demand that the government implement stricter measures to prevent similar situations, such as imposing fines of up to 100,000 pesos.
