Pizza shop workers in Havana give a new life to a dog whose owner could not feed it.

In just over a month since he was adopted by the workers at the pizzeria, the dog named Sultán has undergone a radical change and is now treated like a king.

Animal defenders celebrated this Wednesday on social media the radical transformation of a dog that, put up for adoption because its owner could no longer feed it, was taken in by the workers of a pizzeria.

Maurilia Tarano Tamayo recalled the story of this dog in the Facebook group "SOS callejeros. Cuba," stating that he was rescued when his owner, unable to feed him, put him up for adoption.

"We see today the transformation of Sultán, who was adopted by Rino's Pizza and Salsa Río, from Parque Almendares," said the woman, who emphasized the love with which the dog is treated.

"Today he lives fully happy, filled with love from the workers of the pizzeria; he is the spoiled and pampered one by everyone," he pointed out.

Enmanuel Castro Pla shared two photos in the same Facebook group. The first shows Sultán when he was rescued on June 30, while the second was taken this Wednesday.

"Look at the change that has happened in just over a month," he pointed out. "He went from being unable to get up even to eat to being the most hyperactive and happy dog you can see."

Although animal protectors often make the difference between life and death for a dog or a cat, their work is currently hindered by the crisis.

The scarcity is also causing more and more people to abandon or give their animals up for adoption due to the inability to feed them.

Migration has also affected pets in Cuba, which are sometimes left behind, hopefully for adoption.

Recently, an animal shelter posted a unique ad on social media for the adoption of a little dog, seeking someone without parole, who does not live in a rented place, with no allergies, and who will not put the dog on a rooftop.

Alexa Milena Durán Ruiz posted a message in the Facebook group "We Are Your Voice" explaining that the puppy had to be rescued previously, but her brother did not have the same luck and was killed: "So we are looking for a special family that meets all the requirements for Campanita to grow very happy and surrounded by love."
