The trapper Todd Hardwick and his Pesky Critters team recently rescued 21 baby crocodiles trapped in the filter of a residential pool in Miami-Dade County.

The rescue, which took place under the watchful eye of the mother crocodile, who was about 15 feet away in a nearby canal, was carried out successfully and without incident, the company noted on Facebook.

The young, which had originally been placed in a nest created by the mother at the base of a statue in the garden of the residence, instinctively made their way to the nearby pool after hatching.

However, their journey ended in the pool filter, where they became trapped. Hardwick, with great care, removed them one by one, ensuring they came out unharmed.

After the rescue, the cubs were weighed, measured, and tagged for monitoring before being returned to their mother.

This incident serves as an important reminder for Florida residents about the need to always check their pools before using them, especially in areas where wildlife coexists so close to residential areas.

In May, Martin Brenner, a resident of New Smyrna Beach in the state of Florida, never imagined even in his worst nightmares meeting a three-meter (10-foot) alligator in the pool of his house, but that was precisely what happened.

The unusual thing, according to the owner of the house located in the community of Venetian Bay, was the surprising way it entered: "It didn't tear anything or cause any damage, it just pushed through the piece of protective mesh," News 6 reported.

In 2023, wildlife protection agents captured a huge American crocodile that was bathing in the backyard pool of a house in the Florida Keys.

According to the authorities, the owner of a home in Plantation contacted them around 2:00 am on Sunday to report that there was a peculiar swimmer in his swimming pool.
