Tourists staying at the Islazul Sierra Maestra Hotel in Bayamo complained about the quality of the water in the pool of the facility, which is "murky like that of a stream" and remains overcrowded with people.
A recent complaint published on the "Granma Citizen Portal" on Facebook denounces the unsanitary conditions and poor management in the hotel's pool, where the price of a room per night is more than 35 dollars.
The complaint states that the pool water looked "taken from a stream," and that more than 80 people were using this area at the same time, which poses a risk to the health and safety of the swimmers.
The author of the complaint asked who is responsible for ensuring water quality and safety in the facility, and held the hotel group Islazul accountable for the situation.
He also stated that people with speakers enter the hotel to play music at high volumes, which, according to the complaint, affects the experience of other visitors.
"We started off badly as usual, look at that water that looks like it was taken from a stream, there were over 80 people in that pool, who is responsible for this? Another thing, who allows the guests or whoever they are to enter a hotel with a speaker to play music? Gentlemen of ISLAZUL, have some respect!" expressed the user in their post.
The complaint has been mentioned by social media users who lament that Cuban families do not have a safe and decent place to vacation with their children during the hot summer.
Last year, there was a similar complaint in the neighboring province of Las Tunas, where the Cuban comedian Yuri Rojas, known on his social media as Yuri_Cómico, reported that the water in the local pools was green and murky, posing a risk to the health of the children enjoying the summer there.
