Neighbors from the Mantilla neighborhood, both residents and emigrants, mobilized in record time to provide support to the family affected by the fire that consumed their home last Thursday, August 22.
From refrigerator, dining room set, living room furniture, beds, and showcases to construction materials to build their house, Yudith and her son Adam, the family affected by the disaster, have received.
"Gentlemen, I no longer have words to express my gratitude, the family has already decided to rebuild their little house," wrote the user identified as Yanara M. Mantilla, who manages the Facebook group "Somos Mantilla."
Another donation received by this family has been a water tank, as well as support from private transporters who have assisted in the transportation of the donations.
"Hat vendors, who said that we are not the best? This love of a person on his tricycle helped us endure the cold," Yanara emphasized in another post where she highlighted that the driver's name was Andrés García.
Private businesses in the area also joined in. "This is beyond words, that the businesses in the neighborhood, the human beings behind them, want to help, want to give a bit of peace and encouragement to Yudith. I want to thank the owners of pan con perro for their little bit of love, really, my life, I'm at a loss for words, many businesses in the neighborhood are helping," Yanara added.
The group administrator shared a photo of Yudith in which she is with the dining set they gave her.
"I'm going to post this photo because it's the first one I see that has a better expression and doesn't have tears in the eyes," he pointed out.
A fundraising campaign on the Gofundme platform began last Friday with the goal of raising 10,000 dollars.
The fire that consumed the house of Yudith and Adam, on República Street between Julio Sánchez and Tamarindo, was of enormous proportions, to the point that the thick column of smoke and flames were visible from several points in the capital neighborhood.
An internet user specified that it was "the block of my house" and claimed that the affected person is "the best person on my block."
A neighbor in the area claimed that four fire trucks came and were very quick, and that thanks to them the fire did not spread to other houses, as it was very voracious.
So far, the causes of the incident have not been disclosed.
