A young Cuban is asking for help for a family that lost everything in a fire that occurred in their home in the Mantilla neighborhood, Arroyo Naranjo municipality, in Havana.

Héctor Luis Lemus shared on Facebook the sad case of Adam and Yudith, a mother and her son who no longer have a place to live after their home was ravaged by flames.

"I make this statement to see if we can help this family from Mantilla right in front of my house. Today it was my brother, my friend, my life, my everything, with his mother, but tomorrow it could be someone else," he said.

"I want you to share, and if you can help, I would really appreciate it. They lost absolutely everything in an unprecedented fire in the blink of an eye," he added.

Héctor Luis, a resident of Miami, opened an account on the GoFundMe platform to raise money for this family from Mantilla whose house and all their belongings were reduced to ashes.

At the time of writing this note, 405 dollars have been received from a goal of 10,000.

The fire that consumed Yudit and Adam's house, located on República Street between Julio Sánchez and Tamarindo, was of enormous proportions, to the point that the thick column of smoke and the flames were visible from various points in the capital neighborhood.

A neighbor in the area assured that four fire trucks arrived quickly and that thanks to them, the fire did not spread to other houses, as it was very fierce.

So far, the causes of the incident have not been revealed, although several internet users denied that it was related to the explosion of an electric motorcycle.
