This Monday, the third premiere episode of the Cuban comedy Vivir del Cuento was released. In "Odisea 2024," the name of this episode, Pánfilo, Chequera, and Isidoro try to help a neighbor with the procedures to obtain Spanish citizenship.
As the chapter title indicates, the odyssey was not only related to the Greek epic poem but also to the endless torture that the characters endured while trying to search for all the ancestors of the supposed Spaniard.
It turns out that the neighbor who wants to become Spanish is none other than Voltímetro, and in response to Pánfilo's doubts about his ancestry, he speaks to him in the purest Spanish accent, tells him his Basque surname, and even shows photos of his cousins, whose resemblance is truly nonexistent.
Pánfilo, Chequera, and Isidoro started to track down Voltímetro's Spanish relatives among birth and death certificates, but the document certifying the marriage of his grandfather is missing, and that is indeed a big problem.
Things get complicated when the only source of information is a 90-year-old aunt of Voltímetro who apparently doesn't have a very clear mind.
Before "Odisea," the popular comedy premiered two other episodes, "The Invisible Man" and "Simultaneous Chess," and none of the three have disappointed the Cuban audience.
