Mother of five children and pregnant with twins lives in extreme poverty in Havana.

The young woman says that she cannot find a solution to her housing problem.

A Cuban mother identified as Solange Romero, living in La Guinera, Arroyo Naranjo, pleaded for help for herself and her children amid the desperate housing situation they are in.

The young woman has five children, is pregnant with twins, and lives in extreme poverty in a wooden house that floods every time it rains.

In a live video published on Facebook, she explained that every time it rains, she has to climb into bed with her children until the storm passes, due to the leaks in the roof of her precarious home.

Despite being enrolled in the demographic plan since 2021 for being the mother of five children, she has not received any concrete help or solutions to her vulnerable situation, she reported.

"It's very hard to have to get into bed with your children not knowing what to do, there is no way out," he lamented.

La Güinera is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Havana and where thousands of people demonstrated on July 11, 2021.

The case of Solange is not unique in Cuba. In January of this year, another similar case moved dozens of Cubans when the story of Yuliet, a mother of seven children living in extreme poverty in the province of Camagüey, became public.

Yuliet, 31 years old, did not have enough resources to feed or dress her children, and her housing was in a deplorable state, with the whole family sleeping in a single bed.

Dozens of Cuban mothers live with several children in extreme poverty, while the regime is unable to provide them with a decent life.

Despite the fact that authorities have promised to prioritize mothers with more than three children in addressing housing issues, the reality is that many women like Solange and Yuliet continue to live in unacceptable conditions, without access to basic resources or visible solutions.
