A Cuban mother and her son with Down syndrome thanked the influencer Alain Paparazzi for sending them financial assistance to buy a house.
The woman, who had reported the dreadful conditions of her home and the state's abandonment of her situation, received an envelope with money raised by the youtuber with the help of his followers.
With donations and my personal income, we made a difference once again: this Cuban mother with her son who has Down syndrome is asking for help, as the government has completely abandoned her, living in terrible conditions,” explained Alain, who has over 300 thousand followers just on his Instagram channel.
"Thanks to you and your followers, my child and I are going to have a house," the woman said, in tears, after receiving the donation.
The video is particularly moving because the child couldn't stop crying. "Look daddy, soon we will be able to buy our little house," said the mother, who showed the dire conditions of their home.
Thousands of Cuban mothers have to live with their children in terrible conditions, as the state claims it doesn't have the resources to build decent housing or support them in repairs.
Recently, the case of a woman from Vertientes, Camagüey, who lives with her autistic son in a house without a roof, has come to light. She claims that four years ago she asked the government for help, and they still have not addressed her request.
