A group of Cuban children were seen begging for money in a tourist area of Havana, and were exposed on social media due to a mother's concern for the safety of those minors.

"These children escaped from school, they're wandering around El Vedado asking for money; if any mother recognizes them, they say they are from Alamar," said mother Taymi Montes in the Facebook group "Cuban mothers for a better world."

Montes added that it was “a group of six children” and called on mothers to stay alert in light of the increase in violence and crime on the island.

Her post generated several comments, mainly from mothers saying that one of the minors had been declared missing by his mother and that she was looking for him after he escaped from a special school.

However, apparently, it was not the same minors, since it has already been reported that the lost minor has been found.

"This is already out of control, our children are begging in the streets due to the lack of everything, please they are children but they are aware of the situation, let's take care of our infants because the streets are very bad," was one of the opinions that arose from that publication.

Another mother pointed out that "on the 100 bridge, there are also two children begging for money, this system is becoming more unsustainable every day. We’ll talk about the issue of parents later, but nowadays, the start of the school year, instead of being a school celebration as it should be, is turning into a struggle to see who has the best backpack, the best snacks, and the best shoes," expressed this mother who highlighted other problems affecting Cuban families.

In January of this year, four Cuban children were seen alone while asking for money on a highway in Havana, an event that raised alarms on social media due to the increase in disappearances and murders of people on the island.

The minors were "asking for money from tourist cars and breaking bottles in the middle of the detour to make the cars stop," said a user when making the report.

The story of a nine-year-old Cuban boy who walks up to six kilometers every day in Havana not to meet his friends or family, but to ask for money to eat, went viral on social media.

The minor lives somewhere in La Víbora, in the municipality of Diez de Octubre, and every day he walks slowly to El Vedado to try to buy at least two or three pizzas that cost 200 pesos.
