Price of apartment in Havana reduced, but they can't find a buyer.

Apartment in Nuevo Vedado for sale for more than 30 thousand USD, an unattainable amount for many Cubans.

Amid the deep housing crisis that Cuba is experiencing, an apartment in the coveted area of Nuevo Vedado has hit the market with a price that far exceeds the capabilities of most workers on the island.

The property is listed in the catalogs of real estate agents in Vedado and beyond. It is located in a building built in 1950 that has only two apartments per floor. It is close to the 26 Zoo, one of the most privileged areas to live in Havana.

It has 88 square meters and includes a living-dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, terrace, patio, and a shared garage in the building's basement.

The price has recently been lowered to 38 thousand dollars, from its original value of 45 thousand, which is still an astronomical sum for the average salary in Cuba.

Given the current economic situation, it is likely that the property will end up being acquired by a Cuban resident abroad, with the intention of allocating it to a family member on the island or using it as a rental home.

This phenomenon has been increasing, with many emigrants investing in real estate in Cuba, while citizens within the country see the possibility of accessing their own housing becoming increasingly distant, especially in this area of Havana.
