The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has ordered a much-anticipated rematch between Cuban Robeisy Ramírez and Mexican Rafael "Divino" Espinoza, generating great excitement in the world of professional boxing.

In the defeat against Espinoza in December 2023, the Cuban lost his world title because when he had the Mexican on the verge of a KO, the bell rang, and he managed to recover. Now, Ramírez is looking for the opportunity to redeem himself and regain the championship belt.

The announcement from the WBO indicates that both teams have a 15-day deadline to negotiate the terms of this new matchup. If an agreement is not reached, the organization will proceed to an auction, with a minimum of $150,000 for bids.

The first fight between these boxers was very contested. Although one of the judges scored the match as a draw (113-113), the other two favored Espinoza, giving him the victory with scores of 115-111 and 114-112. He became the WBO world featherweight champion.

Since then, Ramírez has worked on correcting the mistakes that cost him the title and has gained experience in other fights.

On June 29, he defeated the Mexican Brandon León Benítez by knockout in Miami, demonstrating that he is still a high-level contender.

The Cuban has a record of 14 wins, 9 of them by knockout, and 2 losses. He has been a two-time Olympic champion and is preparing for this new challenge that could take place at the end of 2024.

The rematch against Espinoza is expected to be even more intense than their first encounter, which was considered one of the best fights of the year. Both boxers have a lot at stake, promising an exciting bout.
