Intense discussion in the Santiago de Cuba market over the weighing of goods.

The product in dispute was nothing less than sugar.

A worker at a market in Santiago de Cuba did not hesitate to intimidate a customer with a bat who complained that he was being given less sugar than he was entitled to.

The incident was recorded by a witness who was in line, right outside the establishment, which prevented the details of the brawl from being collected.

The images -released by journalist Yosmany Mayeta- do not allow for the details of the discussion to be known, but it is clear that the atmosphere was heated, and it can be seen that a man dressed in blue grabs a bat with the intention of fighting, but he was timely dissuaded by witnesses.

In the video, it can be heard that the people in line complained that they were delaying the sale.

The cited source specified that apparently the customer was compensated with the missing sugar and left the market.

Mayeta Labrada called on the authorities of Santiago de Cuba for the inspectors who are on the streets indiscriminately fining self-employed workers with over 8,000 pesos, to also "properly sanction the market workers who continuously steal from the population."

"You should not only be inspectors to bother the self-employed, you should be inspectors more for the state workers who live and take their bags with their products," he stated.

In the comments section, dozens of internet users agreed with the journalist. Some who identified the market where the incident occurred took the opportunity to point out that the employee involved has already had issues with other customers.
