New supply of electric tricycles for state transportation in Havana

Currently, there are 118 electric tricycles operating in the city, serving 15 routes across eight municipalities.

The electric tricycle park for public passenger transportation in Havana has increased with the addition of 35 new vehicles, which will join the 118 already operating in the city.

According to what Minister Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila reported on his Facebook profile, these mediums currently operate 15 routes across eight municipalities.

"At this moment, the authorities of the province are evaluating how to distribute them in the best possible way," he said.

So far, there are three routes in Guanabacoa, five in Boyeros, two in Playa, one in Plaza de la Revolución, one that connects Playa and Marianao, and three that connect Centro Habana, one of which goes to La Habana Vieja and the other two to Plaza.

There are seven municipalities that do not have this service: Diez de Octubre, Cerro, Arroyo Naranjo, La Lisa, Regla, Habana del Este, San Miguel del Padrón, and Cotorro.

"In the following months, the assembly process will continue, enabling us to reach the rest of the provinces that still do not have this service," noted the executive.

Rodríguez Dávila revealed that five electric tricycles were recently placed in each of the localities of the municipalities of Baracoa and Maisí, in Guantánamo, as well as the same number in Gibara, Holguín.
