Lis Cuesta congratulates Díaz-Canel on their quartz wedding anniversary: "Between kisses and battles"

The ridiculousness of the couple is already well-known among Cubans, who have had to endure previous bursts of romanticism from the "not first lady," Lis Cuesta Peraza.

The marriage of Cuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel with Lis Cuesta Peraza reached 18 years this Monday, and the "not first lady" celebrated it with a message on social media that, as usual, stirred up Cubans due to its sentimentality and disconnection from the issues that truly concern citizens.

"Congratulations, my treasure, on our quartz wedding. Thank you for so much LOVE among KISSES and BATTLES," said the event promoter and official from the Ministry of Culture, accompanying her words with a black and white photograph of the couple engrossed in each other while kissing in front of the camera.

The ridiculousness of the couple is already known to Cubans, who have had to endure previous outbursts of romanticism from Cuesta Peraza, whether it be on wedding anniversaries, Valentine's Day, or when the one popularly known as the "Empellatriz" feels seduced by her "mango" or "dictator of her heart."

The 18th wedding anniversary is called Quartz Wedding, as quartz is a very hard and erosion-resistant stone. Unconcerned with the difficulties faced by everyday Cubans, the couple from Palacio promotes the strength of their marital bonds as if it were a matter of state, or as if such a display of "humanity" would make Cubans feel governed by normal people, rather than by characters from a puppet theater.

"It has already been 18 years since you managed to win over the first secretary of the PCC in your province. The greatest desire of the 'climbers' from Holguín, but you were the chosen one. Today we have no sugar, oil, or coffee in our basic basket, but we will have quartz. Thank you," replied the user identified as Taoro on X.

"A 'first lady' who is not a first lady, a 'president' who is not a president, a 'marriage' that is not a marriage. 'In politics, the real is what is not seen.' José Martí," replied the user identified as Nicanor O'donnell.

"Congratulations, the birthday of the marriage between the sh*t and the pit has never been celebrated! However, I love you both very much because if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to evacuate my stomach! Congratulations to beautiful Macha with Juan Primito the cabestrillero!" said Rolando Rosales.

"The ideal couple... Two incompetent subnormals... Congratuleichon and senquiu beri moch..." José Luis de la Maza Martínez mocked.

"Beautiful!" replied the head of communication for the Presidency of Cuba, Leticia Martínez Hernández.

"One more year, one more and I still love you, no matter how many years life has, there will always be one more year between you and me. Happy anniversary, my LOVE," Lis wrote on her Twitter account in September 2022.

"For many more years, my love," replied Díaz-Canel, who shared his spouse's post.

The ruler's wedding to Cuesta Peraza presumably took place in 2009, according to several photos from the celebration that user Carlos Ferrera leaked on Facebook in 2020. He published images of the moment of signing before a notary, as well as others celebrating with friends and family.
