Cuban government begins inspection of bakeries after reducing the weight of bread.

Inspections of bakeries do not stop the popular discontent over the reduction in the size of bread.

Following the announcement by the Cuban regime last week about the reduction in the size of the bread in the basic basket, which has now started to weigh 60 grams, the directors of the Ministry of Food rushed to inspect bakeries to verify compliance with the order.

This was reported on X by the minister of that sector in Cuba, Alberto López Díaz, who added that "detecting illegalities and preventing violations of regulations are the main purposes of these actions aimed at ensuring the delivery of a quality product to the population."

However, rather than being applauded, the words of the Cuban leader increased the criticism of a product that already receives hundreds of questions daily.

"They have to put an inspector at each door every day and change them quickly," wrote an internet user, revealing that inspectors can also be accomplices of the prevailing corruption that exists in Cuba.

"Albe, and after that, are all the Cubans going to eat inspection? Thank you, Albe, for contributing so much to this Homeland," questioned another user sarcastically.

The truth is that since the announcement of the measures, the alarms of the Cubans have not stopped, as they live in a prolonged period of crisis, without the government providing them with good news about the end of this phase.

In fact, according to the government, the measure to reduce the grams of bread, which went from 80 to 60, is being implemented because it is the only way they can ensure that the population can acquire bread daily and avoid issues like those that occurred months ago.

One of the reactions to this measure came from the Camagüey journalist José Luis Tan Estrada, who said on Facebook: "The birthday breads have begun," to denounce that last Saturday, in the municipality of Guáimaro, basic basket bread was sold weighing only 50 grams, instead of the stipulated 60 grams.

The journalist shared two images that illustrate the situation. In one of them, there is a loaf of bread whose size barely exceeds the diameter of a cup; in the other, its weight is shown, which is only 50 grams.

On their part, it continues to be other sectors of society that take the initiative to alleviate the reality of Cubans, as was the case of a Catholic priest who distributed bread during a Sunday mass in a rural area of Santiago de Cuba.
