Cubans review the list in a line in Miami to buy the iPhone 16: "Who is Manuel?"

The customs of queuing in Cuba have arrived in Miami, even for purchasing items as expensive as a state-of-the-art mobile phone.

A video published on the popular Instagram profile Only in Dade has generated controversy on social media by showing a group of people camping in Miami to get the new iPhone 16.

The nighttime queue is led by Cubans, who even have a list of potential buyers for the modern mobile phone.

"And who is Manuel?" the queue organizer is heard saying, while a Cuban woman protests because her name was not written correctly on the list.

The video was published under the title "Here we go again." It has sparked critical comments towards those who wait in long lines to buy the device, when it is not a necessity, it will not sell out immediately, and it can also be purchased online.

A user commented: “These are the same people who live in a studio, don’t have a car, and complain about the economy.” Another added: “Welcome to 2024, guys, mine arrives tomorrow from the comfort of my home.”

The phenomenon of Cuban lines in Miami is not limited to buying phones. The same situation is observed at the locations for acquiring a driver's license, with people camping out since the previous afternoon to secure a spot.

In addition, some Cubans have turned the lines in Miami into a business opportunity, renting out chairs or selling coffee and pastries to those who are waiting.

This type of scene has sparked numerous criticisms in the Cuban community in exile, which watches in surprise as newcomers bring with them the practices of the miserable life they led in Cuba to an organized country with a powerful economy like the United States.
