What is the price of dollars, euros, and MLC in Cuba on the last day of September?

The currencies close a month in which they recorded very few changes in their average selling prices in the informal market.

On the last day of September, dollars, euros, and Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) remain unchanged compared to the previous day in Cuba, although in the case of the US currency, the median values show a slight increase in sales.

At dawn on this Monday, September 30, the dollar remains valued at 320 CUP, the euro at 335, and the MLC at 270.

In September, only three movements have been recorded in the informal market for each of the three reference currencies.

In the first of them, the Freely Convertible Currency dropped from 275 to 270 on September 14.

On September 23, the dollar rose from 320 to 322, but just a day later it fell back to 320, and it has remained at that value since then.

In the case of the euro, the European currency rose five pesos on September 27, from 330 to 335 CUP, and it remains at that price now.

The median values published today by elToque, corresponding to the analysis of the last 24 hours, reveals a slight increase in the sale of the dollar, which rises to 323. There are no changes in the other two currencies.

Despite the stability in the informal foreign exchange market since early August, the prices of basic products in Cuba remain high for the population and are indicators of the economic crisis the country is facing, where inflation and the shortage of foreign currency impact the purchasing power of citizens.

The price stability in the last few weeks contrasts with the significant changes of the first seven months of 2024, which were characterized by abrupt streaks of both price increases and decreases.
