The forensic doctor will determine the cause of death.
The age and sex of the newborn have not been disclosed.
The authorities are reviewing the cameras in the area to determine who was in the restaurant during the time frame in which the incident is believed to have occurred.
So far, no arrests have been made and no other details about what happened have been disclosed.
A woman who identified herself as the assistant manager of Sophie's said that the police allowed the restaurant to remain open.
