A Cuban woman based in the United States, @nathyy.zaldivar.t, has excited her followers on TikTok by sharing how she plans to bring joy to a child in Cuba. In a recent video, Nathyy showed a bicycle that her husband found and that they plan to send to the island. Aware of the difficult economic situation, she explained that although it won’t change the child's life, they will give him "a joy that will last a day, a week, or a month."
"Everything is super expensive," Nathyy stated, pointing out that many parents in Cuba can't even buy the most basic essentials for their children. Her message encouraged others to do the same if they have anything they no longer use, reminding that "the children are not to blame for how the parents behave."
The reactions came quickly. "I get emotional watching these videos, the situation in Cuba is painful," wrote one user, while another expressed gratitude for the gesture: "God bless you, you really have a good heart." Some shared their difficulties in sending things due to high shipping costs, but Nathyy responded by providing details about the agency she uses from Tampa.
However, not all the comments were positive. One criticized the quality of the bicycles compared to those in Cuba, to which Nathyy responded without hesitation: "When I was little I would have wanted to have one like this."
This gesture has touched the hearts of many, showing that, although they may not change the world, they can give a moment of happiness to a child in need.
