Dorian Carbonell warns about the joke of paying with a Cuban card in Brazil: "Don't get on board!"

Dorian showed, with his joke, the harsh reality of Cuba's economic disconnection from the rest of the world.

The famous Cuban barber Dorian Carbonell has caused a stir on social media after starring in a video where he pretended to have paid with a card from the Banco Metropolitano de La Habana at a restaurant in Brazil.

Dorian was visiting the South American giant in September, participating in an event for stylists. He made a video showing the end of a dinner with friends, and many people got excited thinking they could use their cards abroad, but Carbonell quickly clarified that it was all just a joke.

A few days ago, seeing that Cubans continue to share his video and are unsure whether it’s a joke or not, the stylist took to his social media to reiterate that it has all been a game, a prank, and that they should not take it seriously.

"Sir... That was a joke! I repeat, do not board. Do not board!" Dorian warned on Instagram.

The barber is known for his good humor. He apologized to those who got their hopes up and reiterated that Cuban cards, unfortunately, do not work outside the country.

He closed his message with a thank you to his fans for playing along.

This joke by Dorian Carbonell, although light and entertaining, reflects the hopes and wishes of thousands of Cubans who dream of being able to use their cards abroad someday. In the meantime, they are only useful within the borders of Cuba.
