Numerous people have expressed their sadness on social media this Sunday over the passing of Professor Dalenia Cabrera from the University of Oriente in Santiago de Cuba, sharing heartfelt messages of condolence.
"We are left mourning the loss of this beautiful teacher, Dalenia Cabrera, who has gone to live in the heavens. Our condolences to her family and friends, may she rest in peace," wrote Alejandro Quiroga Silveira in the Facebook group "Amigos del Fajardo."
The educator, who apparently worked as a professor at the Faculty of Physical Culture, earned the affection of her students and colleagues.
In the comments section, hundreds of people have shared messages of condolence directed to Cabrera's family, while others have not been able to hide the affection they felt for her.
Ibelise Medrano expressed on Facebook that “Today the world has lost a wonderful angel, and heaven has gained a great star: a good daughter, mother, friend, wife, companion, advisor, and an excellent teacher.”
"May God place her in the finest part of His vast palace and may she watch over her loved ones from there," he stated.
The passing of individuals whose contributions endure is deeply mourned on social media.
Last Thursday, Cuban singer and songwriter Marta Valdés passed away in Havana at the age of 90.
The news was announced by the Ministry of Culture, which recognized the career of the esteemed performer, troubadour, and music critic.
In September, Alan Ernesto Vera García, a wrestler from Santiago de Cuba and the first Cuban to win a national championship in the United States in Greco-Roman wrestling, passed away at the age of 33.
According to a fundraising appeal to support Alan and his family, particularly his wife and their baby under three months old, the Cuban-American athlete reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest days earlier while playing soccer.
