Dollar, euro, and MLC in Cuba: Exchange rates today in the black market

The exchange rates of the dollar, euro, and MLC continue to fluctuate in the Cuban black market, reflecting the economic crisis and the high demand for foreign currency.

Today, October 7, 2024, the exchange rates in the Cuban informal market continue to show significant fluctuations in the main currencies.

According to updated data from elTOQUE, the U.S. dollar (USD) is quoted at 322 Cuban pesos (CUP), remaining one of the most sought-after currencies in informal transactions.

For its part, the euro (EUR), which continues to gain ground, is valued at 335 CUP, reflecting the high volatility of the European currency in the Caribbean country.

Finally, the freely convertible currency (MLC), primarily used for purchases in Cuban stores in foreign currency, is at 270 CUP.

These figures demonstrate the ongoing tensions in the Cuban currency market, where the value of foreign currencies fluctuates daily due to the scarcity of foreign money and the increasing demand.
