Tolls are suspended on some roads in Florida due to the approach of Hurricane Milton.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced the suspension of tolls in central and western Florida, as well as on Alligator Alley, starting at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, to facilitate evacuation ahead of Hurricane Milton's arrival.

The measure will be in effect for one week, until October 14, and may be extended if necessary conditions arise.

The suspension will allow residents to evacuate more quickly and safely, without worrying about tolls.

The Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation, Jared W. Perdue, noted that the measure is essential for keeping traffic moving and helping families exit the main impact area.

In addition, he urged drivers to check the website FL511.com for updates on road conditions, closures, and bridges during the emergency.

Alligator Alley.

Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties:

Suncoast Parkway.

Connector I-4.

Selmon Expressway.

Veterans Highway.

Access Highway.

275 Express.

Bay of Pinellas.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Counties of Osceola, Orange, Lake, Seminole, Sumter, and Polk:

Main line of the toll highway between I-75 (MP 309) and Canoe Creek Service Plaza (MP 229).

SR 453.

SR 451.

Wekiva Highway.

Apopka Highway.

Highway of the Beachfront.

Greenway of central Florida.

East-West Highway.

I-4 Express.

Western Bypass.

Osceola Highway.

Poinciana Highway.

Southern Connector Extension.

Seminole Polk Parkway.

The facilities managed by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE), the Central Florida Expressway Authority, and the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority are included in this suspension.

In addition, the FDOT has implemented the emergency use of the shoulders on highways I-4 and I-75 to improve traffic flow during evacuations.

Residents can also use Florida's 511 traveler information system to stay informed about traffic conditions and other important closures during the emergency.
