With the imminent arrival of Hurricane Milton in the United States, a resident of Florida wrapped his car in plastic to protect it, as shown in a video shared on social media.

The ingenious protective measure, which reflects people's efforts to preserve their material belongings, can be seen in a video shared on TikTok by the user DifraCuba (@difracuba).

The post was widely discussed, and several internet users felt that cardboard should have been used first to provide a greater level of protection.

Others highlighted that person's effort to protect the car, noting that it shows how much they value the sacrifice it took to acquire it.

However, many pointed out that, due to the strength of Hurricane Milton and the flooding it will cause, water will enter from beneath the vehicle, making this protection useless.

Other people have chosen to "tie down" their homes with safety straps in an attempt to protect them from the impact of Hurricane Milton, as shown in some images shared by Rayko Suarez on Facebook.

The photographs show that they secured the roofs of the houses with yellow tape, which is tied from the roof to the ground.

In addition, it can be seen that they covered the windows with wooden panels, a common practice in hurricane-prone areas to prevent flying debris from entering the home.

The imminent arrival of Hurricane Milton on the shores of Florida has caused chaos on the state's roads, as hundreds of thousands of its residents are moving in search of shelter.

For greater confusion and perplexity of the residents, Miami-Dade County has been the scene of a tornado, according to reports on social media, where images and videos of this atmospheric phenomenon that has crossed roads have been shared, generating more concern among those traveling on them.

Tampa, which is expected to be one of the cities most affected by the powerful cyclone, has become an empty, abandoned city as its residents carry out a mass evacuation in anticipation of the hurricane's imminent arrival.

And although evacuation has been recommended, some residents have chosen to stay in their homes.

In light of this decision, the Tampa police suggested that those choosing to stay write their name and date of birth on their arm as an extreme measure of identification in case of emergency.
