Andy Vázquez asks for help for a Cuban family that lost everything in a fire caused by a tornado.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in the fire that broke out last Wednesday.

Andy Vázquez requested help for a Cuban-origin family residing in Cape Coral whose house was completely burned down this Wednesday as a result of Hurricane Milton, after a transformer fell on the home.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in the incident - which occurred at 107 Chiquita Boulevard - because most of the family members had gone to Miami.

At the time of the incident, there was only one gentleman in the house who was able to be rescued thanks to the timely help of neighbors.

"After the passage of Hurricane Milton and tornadoes in Cape Coral, a follower lost her house. She lost everything. They have two children, a 7-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy," the comedian specified in the comments section of a video he posted on Facebook explaining the situation.

"Please, if you can help with anything: clothes, shoes, backpacks for school. They lost everything," added the comedian, who shared +1 (786) 414-6744 as a contact phone number.

Andy also shared the details of a help request on the GoFundMe fundraising platform.

The account has set a goal of 15,000 dollars, of which, at the time of this note, 1,950 dollars have been raised.

Another way to help, especially for those who live nearby, is to go directly to the place and offer material assistance.

"Everyone has something at home that they don't need," the comedian recalled.

"My friend Elena González and her family have recently faced an unimaginable tragedy: their house was consumed by fire during Hurricane Milton. What was once a warm space filled with love and laughter is now a shell of ashes. In the wake of this disaster, Elena is facing the overwhelming task of starting over. While the support from our community means everything, she needs our help to truly rebuild her life. Every dollar you donate will go directly towards finding her a new home, replacing essential items, and restoring a sense of normalcy for her and her family," says the emotional plea for help on GoFundMe.

"Let’s come together to show Elena that even in the darkest moments, we can shine a light of hope. Your generosity can help her rise from this devastation and rebuild her life. No amount is too small; every little bit counts. Thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we can make a difference," concludes the post.

Witnesses, residents in the area, and the local press have widely documented the incident on social media.

The local channel Wink reported that it happened around 9 p.m. The same source added that, given the extreme weather conditions at that time, the Cape Coral Fire Department was unable to respond to the emergency.

The neighbors said that the flames eventually extinguished on their own. On Thursday morning, a team from the mentioned local television channel came by and saw that the house was beyond repair.

The roof and the interior of the house had completely disappeared. The only thing left is the immovable exterior structure.
