Caiman attacks a car during the flooding from Hurricane Milton in Florida.

One occupant of the vehicle was about to get out on a flooded street when the reptile unexpectedly emerged from the water and lunged to bite a tire.

Hurricane Milton continues to leave stunning images in its wake after passing through the United States.

In recent hours, a video released by the Telemundo network has gone viral, showing an alligator attacking a car that was driving during a flood in Florida.

The terrifying attack occurred in Fort Myers, a city located in Lee County, and was recorded on video by one of the occupants of the car.

One of the passengers was about to get off on a flooded street when the reptile suddenly emerged from the water and lunged violently to bite a tire.

"It's very deep here," the subject comments, when suddenly he sees the animal with its mouth open almost next to him. "Oh, shit, it was a damn alligator that bit my tire," he expressed, scared.

Authorities insist that one should not walk through water in flooded areas when cyclones and hurricanes pass because there are dangers like this.

The Telemundo reporter recalled that alligators, like snakes, can swim in shallow waters.

Hurricane Milton left 12 dead in Florida and numerous damages caused not only by severe flooding and its winds but also by the 19 confirmed tornadoes, nine of them in the southern part of the state, that preceded the landfall of the phenomenon.

Milton made landfall on Wednesday as a category 3 hurricane on the west coast of Florida, specifically near Siesta Key, south of Tampa.

The powerful weather phenomenon left striking images.

The winds tore off the roof of the Tampa Bay Rays stadium, located in St. Petersburg, a city on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Winds of up to 165 km/h battered the facility, which was supposed to be used as a shelter for emergency personnel.
