The tragic news of the passing of José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, artistically known as El Taiger, has left a deep void in the Cuban reggaeton scene. Among those most affected by this loss is Damián, who, along with El Taiger, formed the popular duo Los Desiguales, marking an important era in urban music in Cuba.

Damián expressed his sorrow through an emotional message posted on Instagram, where he reminisced about his deep connection with El Taiger. "I know I still have my heart because I can feel it beating. I am completely shattered inside at this moment," said the singer, who compared his current pain to the loss he felt when his father passed away, highlighting the significance of this loss for him.

"I only know that now you are with the big one and with your dad. You can’t imagine how sad you left your brothers, friends, followers, and fans. I promise we will remember you forever. I wanted to convince myself that this is a nightmare from which I will wake up and say: what a scare! It was all just a bad dream. Unfortunately, it is not, but you will live on forever in my heart, my little brother José," the singer added, noting that the musician is now with his mother and father, who passed away in 2020.

With these words, Damián expresses the deep affection and unbreakable bond he shared with El Taiger, making it clear that his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved and admired him.

El Taiger and Damian founded Los Desiguales after leaving the group Los 4, led by Jorge Jr. They became one of the most popular and influential duos in the urban scene. Among their hits are "De maravilla," "La contestadora," "No me calientes," and "Yo sigo aquí," among others. At that time, José Manuel was known as El Príncipe.
