A Cuban gets a scare when mistaking a dolphin for a shark in Varadero.

The young woman claims she saw a shark, but the residents of Varadero believe she saw something else. Check out this cute story.

A young Cuban woman starred in a amusing anecdote at Varadero beach. While enjoying a peaceful morning by the sea, someone from the sand called out to her to come out of the water after spotting what seemed to be a shark in the distance.

It is about the TikToker Sandra Saure (@sandra_saure) who was recording videos with her phone when suddenly she was scared out of her wits.

"He yelled at me to get out of the sea because he saw a creature, a sea creature, but we didn't really know what it was. He said to me, 'Look Sandra, a shark.' I... How can it be a shark? But I was already out," the young woman recounted.

Sandra claims she saw a shark in Varadero, but the locals have explained to her that it is much more likely she saw a dolphin or a porpoise.

The toninas are some of the smallest marine dolphins in the world. They are common along the Cuban coasts and can often be seen swimming by the beach in Varadero.
