The influencer Flor de Cuba posted a video on Instagram in which she questions the success of those who have finished university and graduated with honors. In the post, the Cuban appears doing various activities at home, using bundles of cash, while a fragment can be heard in which a woman who studied economics reads her resume.

The message, as the influencer herself explains, is addressed to those who criticize her for not having gone beyond ninth grade. In one of her Instagram stories, Hernández Ochoa admits to being aware of the criticism her post has generated, which already has over 7,000 "likes" and 600 comments.

Reactions to the video of the young entrepreneur were swift, generating a broad debate about the usefulness of a university degree in Cuba. Among the most constructive comments, those stand out that point out that education and entrepreneurship are not mutually exclusive, and that those who have chosen the university path should not be underestimated.

One of the users commented:

"This is how Cuba is, where no degree is worth anything! Personally, I became a doctor. But let me say something in our favor: the university teaches a lot, and not just about the chosen field of study; it keeps you from drifting aimlessly for 5 or 6 years, in my case, who knows what problems. I know many people who studied while also having their own businesses. A degree does not define someone's worth or how far they can go, but anyone who can study should do it. Let’s not normalize settling for halfway. What is learned, even if not practiced, is knowledge for a lifetime! ♥"

Another user added:

"For those who say that a degree means nothing, they clearly don't know what they're talking about. A university degree or education in general does not define a person's values, but it says a lot about someone who has spent years studying, setting aside parties or family events, waking up early to go to college, feeling the nerves of presenting for an exam. Those are sacrifices that only those who have lived it know, and not everyone is willing to make. One cannot criticize those who decided not to study, or those who did not have the conditions to do so, but neither should we diminish the merit of those who sacrificed years of their lives to obtain a degree. If you want to defend yourself against those who judge you, don't do it by belittling those of us who have studied; focus your response differently. A hug."

Flor de Cuba, who recently returned from Miami after signing several collaboration contracts, uses her networks to promote brands and businesses both inside and outside the island. Five weeks ago, the influencer shared that she had decided to go back to school, starting the tenth grade at 30 years old. To those who tried to discourage her, she replied that she was not doing it for the degree, but "because I want to learn. The paper is neither necessary for me nor does it provide any financial reward. I simply have the free time and want to continue improving," she noted.
