The leader of the group "Los 4," Jorge Junior, who is the cousin of the recently deceased Cuban reggaeton artist José Manuel Carbajal, known artistically as El Taiger, has been leading the organization of his funeral. He stated on social media that the ashes of the performer of "La Historia" are still in the United States.
The response arises from a publication by Cuban-American broadcaster Enrique Santos, in which he claimed that El Taiger's ashes were in Cuba, citing supposed statements from Jorge Junior as confirmation.
"Enrique Santos, a person whom I considered serious and who didn't get involved in gossip and chatter, look at what he posted. Sir, let my cousin rest in peace, I ask you from the bottom of my heart, and Enriquito, respect yourself because you are losing credibility," wrote the musician in a story, who accompanied his post with a screenshot of what Santos said.
"My cousin is staying in the U.S. until everything is made right," he ended his message.
The death of El Taiger, which occurred last Thursday after he fought for his life for a week at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, having been found with a bullet in his head, has left many legal gaps and apparent struggles to determine the reggaeton artist's final resting place.
The flame was reignited last Saturday by Univision journalist Mario Vallejo, who in a quick live session on Facebook revealed some alleged previous disagreements between certain parties: those interested in having El Taiger's ashes deposited in Cuba, next to his mother's grave; and those who believe that his final resting place should be in the United States.
Then, the journalist himself declared that the "disagreements and discussions between a friend of El Taiger who managed to obtain a notarized power of attorney signed by the musician's grandmother - who shows symptoms of Alzheimer's - and the musician's family, now in Miami," were resolved.
For now, the representation team of the popular reggaeton artist announced this Tuesday that the artist's followers will be able to bid him farewell next Saturday at the Catholic Church of San Lázaro, in the city of Hialeah.
In a statement posted on the musician's Instagram, it is stated that the memorial service will be public and will begin on Saturday, October 19 at 1:30 p.m.
