A Cuban woman identified on Facebook as Leyâh Gomez urgently requested help on social media to recover her dog, Lala, who went missing yesterday in the area of Playa 41 and 58, near Fruticuba, and was seen this Thursday in the hands of a pet seller.

According to the complaint, a man was carrying the dog with him and after he was confronted about the dog and refused to return it, he took off the collar.

The individual was heading to Old Havana with the intention of selling it, Gómez stated.

Lala, who is also known as Kiki, is sick and needs medical attention due to health issues. The owner explains that dogs suffer deeply when they are away from their families, which makes the situation even more urgent.

Leyâh offers a reward of 100 USD for anyone who can return her pet. Any information about its whereabouts can be communicated to the number 55581824.

Reports of pet thefts have increased in recent months in Cuba amid the severe crisis the country is facing.
