It's no longer "parce" but "asere": The viral video of Colombian women who "speak Cuban" because of their partners

In six days, the video has accumulated over 190,000 views.

Two Colombian women have entertained thousands on TikTok by sharing how their Cuban boyfriends have completely transformed the way they speak and perceive the world. The video, which has already garnered over 20K likes and more than a thousand comments, has made a significant impact on social media, particularly within the Cuban and Colombian communities.

In the clip shared by @eli_u22, the girls say things like, “I’m dating a Cuban and now I say ‘ño’ for everything” or “We don’t eat popcorn anymore, now it’s corn puffs.” One jokes that they no longer have "ground beef," but "picadillo," and that instead of calling her husband “parce,” she now refers to him as "asere." Amidst laughter, they conclude that, thanks to their partners, they now speak "three languages: Spanish, English, and Cuban."

The comments came in quickly. Many users, both Cuban and Colombian, identified with the situation and began sharing their own anecdotes. "I'm a Mexican dating a Cuban, haha, and now it's 'oh boy, dump him, turn him in!'" commented one user; "It's no longer sancocho, now it’s caldosa," wrote another. Some even took the opportunity to joke about the paperwork issue: "Let’s go for those papers, haha," someone said amid laughter.

Other comments mentioned how sticky "Cubañol" is. One user confessed, "I’m Cuban and my husband is Peruvian, but he speaks like a Cuban now," while another joked, "I already took the course on Cuban without barriers; I know it all."

In the end, amidst all the laughter and confessions, it was clear that the blend of Colombians and Cubans is more alive than ever on TikTok. As one viewer of the video remarked, “They’re Cuban now too.”
