This weekend, family, friends, and followers bid farewell to the late Cuban singer José Manuel Carbajal, better known as El Taiger, at the San Lázaro church in Hialeah, Miami. Numerous colleagues of the artist gathered there to pay their last respects, as well as dozens of fans who wanted to honor him in an emotional event. Among those present was the artist's family, including two of his daughters, who experienced this painful moment up close.
Yaliet's mother, the eldest daughter of El Taiger, shared images on the girl's account, where she was accompanied by her mother during this difficult time. In a video showing the little girl at the wake, she wrote the following heartfelt message: "I miss you so much, Dad, I will never forget you. I carry you in my heart and in every one of my thoughts and in the faces of my siblings whom I love so much. Fly high until you are with my grandmother."
Sofía Karim, another of El Taiger's daughters, was also present at the tribute. A particularly emotional moment occurred when the little girl referred to the Cuban singer Osmani García as "uncle," who could not hold back tears in response to the child's display of affection.
The musical legacy of El Taiger not only leaves an indelible mark among his fans, but his colleagues in Cuban music fight to keep his presence alive through his songs. Several artists have paid tribute to him through music.
The emotional farewell in Miami is another testament to the great impact El Taiger had on his loved ones and the Cuban community.
